What this means
A payment is only part of owning a home
Principal and interest repay the loan. Property tax, insurance, repairs, and association dues can add to the monthly cost. Enter recurring costs in advanced settings; closing costs and one-time expenses are not included.
Start with your own comfortable budget
Enter monthly gross income and choose a percentage you are comfortable spending on housing. The resulting home price is a scenario using that budget, your down payment, and the entered rate. The default percentage is a fictional planning example, not a lending rule.
Eligibility needs a separate conversation
Lenders may apply debt-to-income limits, local regulations, and credit checks. This tool does not assess those rules or loan availability. Compare the estimate with your take-home pay and remaining expenses before making a commitment.
Good questions
Does this calculator tell me how much a bank will lend?
No. It estimates a payment and translates your personal housing budget into a price scenario. A lender must assess your actual eligibility.
What loan type is modeled?
A fixed-rate, fully amortizing loan with monthly payments. Interest-only loans, variable rates, balloon payments, and early repayments are not modeled.
